I have been involved with this issue for some time now, during which I have been in contact with Epping Forest District Council, the Environment Agency, local councillors, Nazeing Parish Council and the Growers Association to try and find a solution.
After hearing of the third major fire to happen at this wood pile, I am very disappointed with the Environment Agency who have been dealing with this situation. Preventative measures should be taken so that this doesn’t happen again and residents shouldn’t have to put up with this any longer.
It is unacceptable that the Environment Agency have fallen short on this. Only last week, I had written again about this to the Environment Agency as well as Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Police, and Therese Coffey MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Environment. In light of recent events, I will continue to take this complaint to a higher level.
